Our sustainable approach
Our sustainable approach
JMN has a long-term commitment to sustainability – stewardship, sustainable sourcing, and no waste
We have the privilege to work with wood – An exciting and renewable material with every piece having its own unique character.
We have FSC chain of custody certification and we recognize the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) as the gold standard for certification of healthy forest management and sustainable timber. We also use reclaimed and recycled wood whenever possible.
We source our wood from mills with FSC, SFI, or PEFC certifications for sustainable wood sourcing. We source most of our wood from mills located within 300 km of our facility to minimize our carbon footprint.
We work with recycled wood and cut-offs from large mills which would otherwise be thrown away or downgraded.
We use food-safe finishing for our kitchenware products.
We have achieved over 50% recycled content in our packaging materials with over 95% of our packaging materials being recyclable.
We have invested in high tech equipment to achieve the highest yield and use wood in its full value.
We have a team of expert craftspeople that uses every piece of wood to the best of its ability to minimize waste
Our by-products are sold for animal bedding and for building products.
